Change Equals Effort

Change Equals Effort

The start of a New Year often feels like a new beginning. Even as we live in the same home, with the same family, and the same job, something feels new. This feeling of newness can be a big motivation in tackling your goals for the year, but knowing how to go about those changes can make the difference between achieving what you want and stalling out.

Staring a lot of change in the face is difficult. How many of us have told ourselves that we’ll start on that task tomorrow, only to keep pushing it back? Often, even small tasks can seem insurmountable in the face of the overall goal. Taking the first step could be the most difficult one of all, but also the most important.

All of these feelings go back to the two most common questions we get asked at Integrated Therapies PLLC, which are really the same question: Can I do this? Can I change? Here’s our answer: Yes! You can do it. You can change. You just need to understand that change takes effort.

Personal Responsibility means loving yourself, believing in yourself, and being willing to put in the effort that those things require. When you make your New Year’s Resolutions list,  pick one or two that are immediate and one that is long term. Envision what success would look like, then choose one small action step. Now take it! Change takes effort, and Personal Responsibility means following through on that.

The great news is that you already have some of the tools you need to change. Without even realizing it, you have built up the skills that will help you take some of the effort that is spent elsewhere and redirect it to positive change. You may need help identifying and focusing on them, but the skills you have will help you become the person that you want to be.

At Integrated Therapies PLLC, we know that change equals effort. We can help you understand what type of change is needed to achieve your goals – and what skills you already possess that will help you with that. We’re here to enable you to make the change you want, not make the changes for you. If you are ready to take the first step, contact Integrated Therapies PLLC today! We will walk alongside you, every step of the way.
